Biography

Ms. Valerga received her undergraduate degree in history from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1984.  She graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate in 1990, and has been licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court since 1990.

From 1990 to 1991, Ms. Valerga served as a briefing attorney to the Honorable Samuel B. Kent, United States District Judge, Galveston, Texas.

In October, 1991, Ms. Valerga opened her office for the practice of law in San Antonio, Texas. In about 1994, she began limiting her practice to family law.  Ms. Valerga was Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2000.  Ms. Valerga became certified to mediate family law matters in 2003, and has successfully mediated hundreds of divorce and child related cases since then.

Ms. Valerga has served multiple terms as an officer, director and board member of the Family Law Section of the San Antonio Bar Association, and the San Antonio Family Lawyers  Association. She is a member of the Texas Association of Family Lawyers.

Ms. Valerga has lived in France, Lebanon and Egypt. Ms. Valerga is fluent in French, is improving her Spanish beyond the conversation level, and hopes to learn Hindi next.  She is a member of AILA, the American Immigration Lawyers Association.   She frequently travels internationally, and is happy to bring your consultation in immigration law to you wherever it suits you.
